In Poland the NIS2 directive is implemented by the amended act on the national cybersecurity system (KSC), in force since 3 April 2026. It covers medium and large organisations in selected sectors, but its requirements also reach smaller companies that supply them.
Covered entities have until 3 April 2027 to implement the required technical and organisational measures, and the first security audit is due by 3 April 2028. If you are not sure whether the rules apply to you, start with a self-assessment. We can help with that.

Not covered directly? It may still affect you
Large entities must manage the risk of their suppliers, so they increasingly ask for concrete safeguards such as multi-factor authentication, backups or security policies. A small supplier that cannot show them may lose a contract, even if NIS2 does not apply to it directly.
Frequently asked questions
Does NIS2 apply to sole traders?
Usually not directly. NIS2 targets medium and larger entities in specific sectors. A small business may still feel it indirectly as a supplier to a covered company.
What are the penalties?
For essential entities up to 10 million euro or 2% of global annual turnover, for important entities up to 7 million euro or 1.4% of turnover, whichever is higher. Management can also be held personally responsible.
How long does implementation take?
It depends on the size of the company and its current security level. For smaller organisations the basics usually take a few weeks. We give a quote after the audit.
